Dr. Ferruccio Osimo is one of the founders of IEDTA and was its first President. He is Adjunct Professor at Università Statale di Milano, Member of OPIFER (Italian Psychoanalytic Organization), and Fellow of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry. He trained in dynamic psychotherapy at Tavistock Clinic, London , where he carried out in-depth clinical studies on the quality of outcome, co-authoring with David H.Malan the book, Psychodynamics, Training, and Outcome in Brief Psychotherapy, Butterworth-Heinemann (1992). After attending Habib Davanloo’s Core Training (1989-1992) Dr. Osimo took part in the STDP Research Program directed by L. McCullough at Harvard Medical School (1997). The model he developed of Intensive Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy is described in Brief Psychodynamic Therapy (2002), a chapter from: Comprehensive Handbook of Psychotherapy, and in the book Experiential Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy: A Manual (2003) Bloomington , In.: Authorhouse. Dr. Osimo founded the Italian Core Training in IE-DP (2001) and the English Core Training in IE-DP (2006). His clinical work was presented in Europe, North and South America.
