Ferruccio Osimo, MD, Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist, is one of the founders of IEDTA and was its first President. He trained in dynamic psychotherapy at Tavistock Clinic, London. There, he carried out in-depth clinical studies on the quality of outcome, co-authoring with David Malan the book, Psychodynamics, Training, and Outcome in Brief Psychotherapy. Ferruccio trained with Habib Davanloo (1989-1992 Core Training) and took part in the STDP Research Program headed by Leigh McCullough at Harvard Medical School (1997). Based on his research studies, Ferruccio Osimo developed Intensive the model of Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (IEDP). IEDP is described in the books: Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, chapter from: Comprehensive Handbook of Psychotherapy (2002); Experiential Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy: A Manual (2003); Theory and Practice of Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, co-edited with Mark Stein (2013). Ferruccio founded the Italian IEDP Core Training (2001), English IEDP Core Training (2006), and Israeli IEDP Core Training (2012). His clinical work was presented in Europe, Israel, North and South America.
