2014 Immersions with Dr Allan Abbass

9 January 2014 By IEDTA Website

While being present, reflecting, emotionally engaged and encouraging your client to do the same you will see whether they are able to experience emotions, whether they defend and detach or whether they go flat with somatization, depression, confusion, or projective defenses.

This direct assessment of the attachment system then can lead to specific processes to help your client deal with attachment trauma linked emotions in a supportive but efficient fashion through monitoring unconscious signals of anxiety and defense.

Dr. Allan Abbass is offering 3 immersions 2014 to focus on clients with high resistance, complexity, depression and somatization.

  • Direct assessment and treatment of emotional factors in major depression and somatization. 2nd Norway Immersion in Davanloo’s ISTDP, May 22-24, 2014. [This event has passed. – Editor]
  • Rapid assessment and handling of resistance in psychotherapy: ISTDP for the resistant client.  3rd Swedish Immersion in Davanloo’s ISTDP. In Stockholm September 11-14, 2014
  • ISTDP for complex complex patients with medical illness, cognitive difficulties, dissociation and somatization. 11th Halifax Immersion in Davanloo’s ISTDP. Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre. September 29-October 2, 2014

If you have any questions or wish to apply, please contact Jennifer at abbass@bellaliant.net.
