Jon Frederickson is presenting a three day conference, “Tailoring the Therapy to the Needs of the Patient,” in Melbourne, Australia, 10-12 August, 2014.

He will show DVDs of his cases so you will see how to effectively assess and intervene in a range of cases including patients with ego fragility.

Day 1 – Somatisation & Depression: The Man Who Had to Work from Bed

Day 2 – Fragility & Addiction: The Woman Who Heard a Voice Telling Her to Use Drugs

Day 3 – High Resistance & Repression – The Woman Who Chose to Suffer

In addition to the three day conference, Mr Frederickson will begin the first stage of a three year intensive training program in ISTDP in Melbourne 6-8 August 2014. This small group training will involve didactic lectures, the illustration of technique via videotaped sessions with patients, skills building exercises, supervision of the participants’ videotaped work and relevant readings.

Mr Jon Frederickson, MSW, is the founder of The ISTDP Institute (www.istdpinstitute.com) and author of ‘Co-Creating Change: Effective Dynamic Therapy Techniques’ (which has been awarded the International Book Award for 2014 for Health: Psychology/Mental Health) and ‘Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: Learning to Listen from Multiple Perspectives.’ Mr Frederickson is also Chair of the ISTDP Training Program at the Washington School of Psychiatry, Chair of the ISTDP Core Training Program at the Norwegian ISTDP Society, faculty at the Laboratorium Psykoeducaji in Warsaw, Poland, and teaches at the Ersta Skondal University in Stockholm, Sweden.
