Dr. Allan Abbass is a world leading pioneer in the application of psychotherapy for medically unexplained symptoms. He is a professor, Psychiatrist, and founding Director of the Centre for Emotions and Health at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.
His research and practice into the application of ISTDP for treating somatic complaints has profound implications for the delivery of services for this patient group. The scientific rigor of his publications, along with the precision of his clinical practice and teaching, offers practical and effective guidance for all practitioners working with MUS and for those developing services and policies in this area.
Dr. Abbass has taught and facilitated ISTDP training programmes around the world. He is an advisory board member on the American Psychological Association’s Unified Psychotherapy project, and is on the scientific committee of the American Psychoanalytic Association. He has received numerous awards and widespread recognition for his significant contribution to psychotherapy.
We are absolutely delighted to welcome him back to present to a UK audience of practitioners and clinicians once again. We hope you can join us.
