Call for Submissions
for the
10th International IEDTA Conference
“Love Is In The Air”
13-15 October, 2022
Venezia, Italy
The 10th international conference of the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association (IEDTA) will focus on exploring positive feelings, emotional closeness and resistance against it with Experiential Dynamic Therapyies (EDT). EDTs are emotion-focused, psychodynamic psychotherapy models. EDTs use video recording of psychotherapy sessions to enhance training, supervision, research, and treatment. More information about EDTs can be found on the IEDTA website, iedta.net/edt/about-edt.
The conference will be organized in the form of sessions each covering a specific topic. Sessions will be approximately 120 minutes in length and every session will have a chairperson and presenters. Given this format, presenters are strongly encouraged to present no more than 20 minutes of video.
This IEDTA conference would like to showcase a diversity of approaches, clinicians, and patients. Please, keep these goals in mind when making your submissions.
The conference will also include poster sessions. This will be an opportunity for those doing research or newer trainees to present in a more casual setting.
The current session topics are:
-
Attachment and EDT
-
Technology, Deliberate Practice, and EDT
-
Inpatient, Group Treatment and EDT
-
Child, Couple and Family Therapy with EDT
-
Resistance Against Emotional Closeness in EDT
-
Psychedelics, Spiritual elements, and EDT
-
Research Symposium
-
Diversity in EDTs
We invite you to submit a proposal for one of these topics or a poster; no video is needed for this initial submission. If your written proposal appears appropriate for one of the sessions, the session chair will contact you regarding submission of a brief clinical video vignette that would be representative of what you propose to show as part of your presentation.
All presentations at the conference including posters will be in English. Even if the clinical video is in English, all video presented at the conference will need to have English subtitles.
Presentation proposals must be received by January 15, 2022. Each proposal should include:
-
a brief written description of the proposed presentation or poster.
-
at least two learning objectives related to your presentation.
-
a brief CV.
We anticipate that most submissions will be for only one topic, but if you choose to submit under more than one topic, please rank your top 3 preferences in order.
Please send your submissions and/or questions to submissions@iedta.net, who will forward to the appropriate session chair. We look forward to seeing you in Venice (Italy)!
