I am the deputy director of a clinical psychology doctoral programme at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Clinically, I am a chartered clinical psychologist and work with adults using by integrating both Affect Phobia Therapy (Osborn; Stockholm Core) and Attachment therapy (McCluskey, York). My research addresses how carers, both professional and non are affected by their caring roles and how defences can get in the way of effective self-care and care-giving strategies.
