Who Should Attend
PhDs, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, MDs, and MSWs. All licensed mental health professionals are eligible.
Other training offered: Attendance at Immersions and other workshops is encouraged

Format of Training
Core group is 10-12 participants and we meet 3 times per year for 4 day blocks. Core training includes presentations on ISTDP theory, technique and research, relevant dynamic readings, power-points, group supervision, and skill building exercises. Each group member must be willing to show a video tape of their work during each training block. Peer supervision in-between blocks is highly recommended and each group will have its own online space to discuss and dialogue together to create a sense of community.

Across 3 years; 4-day blocks x 3 each year
Learning Objectives
¬ Understand the theoretical underpinnings if the ISTDP model - to of the ISTDP model
- Understand the research basis for ISTDP and what conditions it is effective with
- Developing skills in clinical technique and clinical thinking which is embedded in theory and elucidated by an iterative process of testing hypotheses based on patients' response to interventions. This allows us to deliver effective interventions across a wide range of clinical presentations and spectrums of resistance and fragility
- Developing the person of the therapist so that ISTDP interventions are delivered in a safe yet effective way
