Deliberate Practice to Enhance ISTDP Supervision and Training with Dr Tony Rousmaniere

This 2-day workshop will focus on how to use Deliberate Practice to enhance ISTDP supervision and training. There will be some lecture, but most of the time will be spent in role-play exercises and group discussion. My goal is to give you some new ideas to enhance your ISTDP supervision you provide others. The first day of the class will teach you the theory/research of Deliberate Practice. I will guide you through trying out the Deliberate Practice exercises I have developed, including exercises to help ISTDP trainees develop their own mobilization capacity and the ”person of the therapist”. The second day will be focused on helping you experiment with developing your own Deliberate Practice exercises for yourself and your trainees, using both ISTDP and research from the science of expertise.
